FAQs
- Why is Sol-ID so important for kids?
- Often the most
severely injured and most seriously ill are unable to communicate with emergency personnel.
Small children are often traumatized, or because of immaturity, unable to provide the
essential information needed for prompt treatment. Together with the elderly, they are the
most at risk for unintentional injuries. Beyond rudimentary initial care, medical personnel
need parental consent in order to legally protect themselves before administering treatment
to an injured child in their care and control. Communicating something as simple as a home
phone number becomes difficult for an injured adult or child and is impossible if they are
unconscious.
- Is Sol-ID better than other forms of identification like
tags, necklaces or bracelets?
- Yes, because it's simple, secure and private. Also
most school-aged children are sensitive to criticism from their peers. Visible ID tags or
jewelry can carry a stigma of being "for babies", thereby making children not want to wear
them. Personal information on a bracelet, necklace or shoelace runs the risk of being
lost, stolen and/or intercepted by strangers. Sol-ID is visible
only to the user and/or emergency personal when necessary.
- Why is Sol-ID so important for adults too?
- Sol-ID provides important information when you are unable to do so.
Your name, medical conditions, emergency contacts numbers become immediately accessible to
any health care provider or law enforcement officer, in the event of an accident or other
emergency.
- I am an athlete-- will I feel the Sol-ID in my shoes?
- No. Sol-ID is a paper thin, inconspicuous safety sticker
that cannot be felt by the user, and it can withstand the toughest of sports including
football, tennis, and soccer. The special transparent protector sheet keeps your personal
information safe and secure. Athletes and other active adults rarely carry cumbersome
identification with them. Bikers and joggers are especially guilty of this, even though
bike-related injuries claim at least 1,000 lives a year in the U.S. In addition, about a
half million people each year require emergency room treatment for bicycle injuries. With
Sol-ID permanently affixed inside cycling shoes, this problem
can be greatly reduced. While Sol-ID should be the primary
identification for all children, athletes (runners, hikers, skiers, climbers, snow-boarders
etc) and seniors, it should also be secondary form of ID for everyone else in the event
your wallet or purse is lost or stolen.

- Is Sol-ID appropriate for special needs patients and
seniors?
- Yes! Mentally disabled adults and those suffering from ailments such as
Alzheimer's or dementia cannot recall basic personal information and this can be the
difference between life and death. Someone who is disoriented rarely remembers to take
along a wallet or purse. Therefore, Sol-ID insures that
emergency information is always accessible even when their family or guardians are
not.
